Robert Capobianco

Senior Vice President

A natural born leader and strategic thinker, Senior Vice President Robert Capobianco, known simply as “Bob” throughout the office, can often be found, with sleeves rolled-up, in deep discussion about a particular area of the business. It’s this drive to fully dissect a topic, in the trenches with the team, that makes Bob an inspiring, effective leader.

Prior to joining the team in 2019, Bob spent 14 years at American Modern Insurance, serving in various leadership roles, including Vice President of the company’s pet health insurance program. In addition, he has served on the board of directors for the North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA).

Bob has a B.A. in economics from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from Rollins College. He and his wife, Barbara, have two adult children and share a home with their cat, Hank.

Liz Watson

Vice President

An energetic and thoughtful leader, Vice President Liz Watson is responsible for the implementation and optimization of the various departments that drive the business. With an overall focus on strategic direction and the customer journey, this incorporates the efforts of marketing, sales, service, financial, operational, and risk management initiatives in support of the company.

Inspired by her co-workers, the creative environment, and the four-legged friends who run around the office, Liz considers her work to be a passion project. She approaches each challenge as an opportunity to learn and to foster a positive team mentality.

Prior to joining our team, Liz gained 24 years of product and brand management experience as Senior Director of Marketing, Midwest Market, for Time Warner Cable. She holds an M.B.A. in marketing from The Ohio State University and a B.S.B.A. in finance and accounting from The University of Akron. Liz is a devoted pet parent to six furry family members. Her pals include two dogs, Henry and Gracie, and four cats, Marmalade, Marmaduke, Murphy, and Oreo.

Mike Kalman

Chief Information Officer

Intuitively quiet but action-oriented, Chief Information Officer Mike Kalman has more than 20 years of expertise formulating technological solutions, offering strategic direction, conducting business process re-engineering, and managing operations. At Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group, he oversees software, development, databases, technology infrastructure, and phone systems. Always looking forward, Mike takes pride in analyzing trends to better place the business in an ideal position to meet future challenges and demands within the industry. A people-person who loves his work and coworkers, Mike champions the soft skills and believes any successful business relationship revolves around the people.

Prior to joining the team at Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group in 2005, Mike held the position of CTO at Micro-Office Medical Information and at ECRM. He also served as Director of Intranet Development (Americas) at British Petroleum. Mike holds a B.S. in cognitive science from the University of California, San Diego. Mike is married and has three children, as well as two Pugs, Fiona and Gimli.

Rob Hall

AVP, Partnerships

With a knack for crafting relationships and a genuine love of the sale, Rob Hall is a natural fit for his position as AVP of Partnerships. From benefit brokers to employers to affinity groups, he helps develop and manage strategic partnerships that maximize revenue in our partner channel. Personable and hardworking, Rob has a proven process for approaching a challenge: collaborate, seek advice, and then face it head on. Even if it seems like he’s going 100 miles an hour 100 percent of the time, Rob always makes time to listen. He believes taking the time to get to know people is the key to forming successful business relationships.

Before joining Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group in 2009, Rob developed his people skills and business acumen working as Senior Account Executive at UnitedHealthcare and as Director of Agency Development at American Enterprise/Ceres Group. He is a graduate (and former Division I soccer player) from The University of Akron with a special place in his heart for his wife and children, and their Silver Labrador, Grayson.

Lynn Thompson

AVP, Special Projects

Lynn Thompson, AVP of Special Projects, refuses to believe that you can’t make a living doing what you love. She knew from a young age that she was meant to work with animals, and this passion – along with her unwavering motivation – led her to Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group in 2003. Lynn’s core responsibilities include product development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation. However, she has also served here as a Claims Adjuster, Customer Service Manager, Director of Operations, and AVP of Operations, and she uses this broad understanding of how we work to take on a variety of unique initiatives. Lynn attributes her success to her eagerness to make personal connections with her co-workers and partners.

Previous service-oriented positions at Purina Mills, Inc. and Corporate Express Promotional Marketing helped Lynn develop her relationship-based management style. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in animal science, she takes her love of animals seriously. Just ask her family, which includes her husband, son, daughter, two rescued Boxers, Rosie and Taco, and a horse, Sweetie.

Gina Fortunato

AVP, Veterinary Field Services

Highly motivated and eager for a challenge, AVP of Veterinary Field Services Gina Fortunato focuses on growing sales within the veterinary channel through new business development. This includes establishing geographical sales territories, creating sales training programs, partnering with marketing, and performing profit & loss responsibilities. A firm believer in collaboration, Gina leads a team of 20 individuals to promote the benefits of pet health insurance. She is also responsible for developing and implementing marketing tools to assist in the education of the veterinary community.

Prior to her current role at Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group, Gina spent 15 years working in management within the pharmaceutical industry at Sanofi-Aventis, the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world. Gina holds a B.A. in sociology from The University of Akron and earned her M.B.A from Baldwin Wallace College. Gina is the proud pet parent to three horses and five cats – two indoor kitties and three barn cats.

Wendy Hauser, DVM

AVP, Veterinary Relations

As the on-staff veterinarian for Crum & Forster Pet Insurance GroupTM, Wendy Hauser, DVM, is able to combine her passions into one “rock star” of a job. She loves helping pet parents by keeping their beloved furry friends healthy. She’s an accomplished academic whose thirst for knowledge is a lifelong endeavor. Her business acumen is perhaps only outdone by her awesome personality, motivation, pursuit of excellence…did we mention she’s a rock star?

Dr. Hauser has served in various roles throughout her 30 year career, including practicing veterinarian and practice owner. She served as Technical Services Veterinarian for Merial, Ltd., and most recently founded Peak Veterinary Consulting. Highly engaged in the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), she served as a member of the Board of Directors, as the Board Vice President and is the AAHA Delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) House of Delegates. Dr. Hauser is a communications coach at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and an accomplished author, including many papers and articles, as well as co-authoring “The Veterinarian’s Guide to Healthy Pet Plans.”

She earned a B.S. in agriculture, animal science, from Oklahoma State University, and her DVM from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hauser lives outside Denver, Colorado, with her husband, two children, and their Black Labrador, Oliver.

Jesse Harris

AVP, Marketing

Leading an in-house team of marketing professionals, Jesse Harris, AVP of Marketing, is responsible for delivering online sales results, go-to-market strategies, brand stewardship, creative design and messaging, content marketing, public relations, as well as the management of digital platforms for enrollment and the customer portal.

A renaissance man of sorts, Jesse brings a unique mix of expertise to the table: brand marketing, sales, design, and IT and analytics. This Swiss Army Knife-style of skills has helped Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group turn the page from old-school marketing tactics to dominate the digital space.

In his spare time, Jesse loves to cook, and dabbles in photography. He has four children and, along with his wife Ashley, shares his home with a rescued Pit Bull named Duke and a cat named Carl.

Patricia Adams

AVP, Legal & Compliance

Leading the company’s compliance department, Patricia Adams, AVP of Legal & Compliance, is responsible for navigating Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group™ through the complex world of compliance, regulatory, and legal matters.

After a decade with the company, Patricia has established herself as a trusted advisor to the company. Patricia humbly breaks down her role as a focus on two things: protecting the company and developing people. Additionally, she sees a strong connection between the two, noting: “Compliance extends well beyond our small team of analysts. Every employee plays a part, so it’s our job to provide the proper direction and training, and empower our staff.”

Patricia and her husband, Todd, are the proud parents of their son Charlie, and share a home with their two dogs.

Chris Chaney

AVP, Finance

As AVP of Finance for Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group™, Chris Chaney provides strategic leadership and coordination of company financial planning, budget management, reporting, and accounting. One of the longest-tenured employees, Chris exemplifies the core values of reliability and stability, crucial characteristics for any financial executive.

As an extension of his strong work ethic, when not crunching numbers for his day job, Chris and his wife Kelly work the family farm, tending to an Angus herd of more than 100 cows and calves. In fact, he considers this endeavor the perfect balance in working with numbers all day, describing it as the “hobby every CFO should undertake.”

Previously, Chris worked with Rea & Associates, a top 100 ranked CPA firm. Additionally, he’s very involved with his church, having a role on the organization’s finance committee, and participating in annual mission trips.

Chris has a business accounting degree from Kent State University. He and his wife have a son named John.
